Grenache Rosé

The Summer leading up to my 50th birthday we went to France. It took that long to finally get there. The trip included Laura, Skylar and me as well as neighbors from two households on our street. We saw lots, walked a great deal, ate amazing food, but one of the most wonderful moments we experienced was a fountain-side café in Aix en Provence that placed buckets of rosé in the fountain for service.

Upon seeing it, we vowed to go for lunch, right after we found our apartment and dropped off our luggage. After a couple blocks and four flights of narrow and steep stairs up to our pad we headed back and lounged, sipped and laughed at a bistro table in a courtyard next to the very fountain Laura drew for our Provence inspired rosé.

We promised each other we’ll go back one day.

2017 Grenache Rosé

In the 2017 vintage we sourced grenache exclusively from Dry Creek Valley, where I believe Rhone varieties thrive. We had the grapes picked early, with good acidity and went straight to press, aiming to make a delicious, crisp rosé.

2016 Grenache Rosé

2016 was our first vintage and it came about as a unique opportunity. Good friends in the business offered to trade bulk wine for public relations services and suddenly Laura had to design a label and we were off to the races of starting a wine brand.
